Hezbollah launched dozens of Fadi 1 and Fadi 2 missiles at the Ramat David airbase near Haifa in response to an Israeli airstrike that killed 37 people, including a senior leader of the militant group. It is unclear if the missiles hit their target, but one person was lightly wounded by a intercepted missile in northern Israel. The Israeli military reported intercepting around ten rockets from Lebanon, with some reaching Haifa and Nazareth.
The missile strike came after Hezbollah accused Israel of targeting Lebanese regions and causing civilian casualties. This follows exchanges of fire between Israel and Hezbollah, including a deadly strike on an apartment building in Beirut. Hezbollah has vowed to retaliate against Israel for recent attacks that killed 37 people, including children, and wounded thousands.
In addition to the military conflict, Israeli forces have raided the offices of Al Jazeera in the West Bank, ordering the bureau to shut down for 45 days. This move comes as part of a wider campaign against the Qatar-funded broadcaster, which has been covering the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza. Al Jazeera has continued to broadcast from Jordan after Israeli forces seized equipment and prevented broadcasts in East Jerusalem in July.
The situation between Israel, Hezbollah, and the media remains tense as violence and censorship continue in the region.
