Republican former President Donald Trump has announced that he will not run for the US presidency again if he loses the upcoming November 5 election to Democratic rival Kamala Harris. In an interview, Trump stated that he does not see himself running again in four years if he is defeated, adding that he hopes to be successful in this election.
Current polls show Trump and Harris are neck and neck in key swing states that traditionally play a crucial role in determining the overall election outcome. Trump, who lost to Joe Biden in 2020 but refused to accept the outcome, has faced criticism for pushing conspiracy theories about the election being stolen.
Despite facing criminal charges related to his efforts to overturn the election results, Trump denies any wrongdoing and believes the indictments are politically motivated. He has also not committed to unconditionally recognising the results of the November election.
If Trump were to run for a fourth campaign for the presidency in 2028, he would be 82 years old. The upcoming election is highly anticipated as it could shape the political landscape for years to come.
