Israel continues its offensive in Gaza, facing accusations of intentionally targeting journalists, which it denies. The Committee to Protect Journalists reports that at least 128 journalists have been killed in Gaza during the offensive. Israel has named journalists working with Al Jazeera as Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists, a claim CPJ says is unproven. In Gaza, the health ministry reports 38 people killed and dozens injured in Israeli strikes in Khan Younis. Israeli forces have entered the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, detaining patients and medical staff. The World Health Organization has lost contact with personnel at the hospital and expresses concern for the patients. COGAT, Israel’s military liaison, facilitated the transfer of patients and supplies to the hospital. The IDF continues its offensive in northern Gaza, where the humanitarian situation is deteriorating. In London, following a Middle East tour, Secretary of State Blinken met with the foreign minister of Jordan, who criticized Israel’s actions in Gaza and Lebanon. He also expressed dissatisfaction with Washington’s efforts to restrain Israel. The situation in Gaza remains volatile, with ongoing military operations causing civilian casualties and exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.
