The South Carolina Highway Patrol has issued a plea for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect involved in a hit-and-run incident that took place on Red Bank Road near Mars Lane in Berkeley County on October 27th at 2:40 a.m. The suspect was driving a 2021-2025 Nissan Pathfinder with front end damage on the driver’s side. The victim, Kaitlyn Anstead Diesburg, sustained serious injuries including broken bones, a skull fracture, and broken vertebrae after being struck by the vehicle. She was placed in a medically-induced coma but has since woken and is in stable condition after undergoing surgery for her injuries. The driver fled the scene, leaving Diesburg with life-threatening injuries. Authorities are urging anyone with information on the suspect’s identity to contact the South Carolina Highway Patrol at 843-953-6010.
