South Carolina dominates exhibition game against Paris’ former school with a blowout victory

The South Carolina Gamecocks dominated in their exhibition game against Wooster, earning an 86-60 victory. Despite a slow start and a competitive effort from Wooster, the Gamecocks were able to pull away in the second half, thanks in part to key performances from young players like Arden Conyers and Cam Scott.

The team showcased their depth with 51 bench points, showing that they have talent beyond their regular starters. Collin Murray-Boyles led the way with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Conyers and Scott both contributed 16 points each.

While the game wasn’t a perfect performance, coach Lamont Paris is not reading too much into the exhibition game, emphasizing that it’s just one game and not indicative of how the season will go. Nevertheless, it was a positive night for the young players on the team, who stepped up in the absence of last year’s veterans.

Looking ahead, South Carolina will open their regular season against North Florida on Monday, November 4th. The Gamecocks will be aiming to build on their strong performance in the exhibition game as they kick off their 2024-25 campaign.
