Bethune-Cookman Secures Victory Over South Carolina State
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — In an impressive showing, the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats triumphed over the South Carolina State Bulldogs with a final score of 75-62 on Saturday. The victory marked Bethune-Cookman’s first win of the season, bringing their record to 1-3.
Brayon Freeman led the charge for the Wildcats, scoring 20 points with an efficient performance that included 5 of 12 shooting from the field and an impressive 10 of 11 from the free-throw line. Tre Thomas also made significant contributions, adding 17 points while hitting 6 of 12 from the field and a perfect 4 for 4 from the charity stripe. Additionally, Thomas and his teammates showcased defensive prowess, combining for three steals throughout the game. Reggie Ward Jr. supported the team’s efforts with 13 points, shooting 3 of 6 from the field and going 7 of 9 from the free-throw line.
On the other side of the court, South Carolina State (2-3) was led by Drayton Jones, who notched 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds in a solid performance. Wilson Dubinsky contributed with 13 points, while Omar Croskey added 12 points to the Bulldogs’ tally.
