The Stevens Institute of Technology men’s swim team secured victories over Hartwick College and the University of Scranton in their recent meet. The Ducks, now 2-2 for the season, defeated Hartwick 193-87 and narrowly edged out Scranton 149-135.
In a successful performance, the team saw multiple standout performances. Deo Bove, Angel Velasquez, Edward Platonov, and Will Stibor kicked off the meet with a win in the 200-medley relay. Platonov and Stibor excelled in the 200 free, while Ryan Ward and Jack Martinek claimed top spots in the 100-back. Leo Timmerman and Will Stibor also took first place in the 50-free and 100-freestyle events, respectively.
Other notable performances included Ethan Emerton’s victory in the 200-back, Lukas Mikulenas’ third-place finish in the 200-breast, and strong showings by Joseph Sparshott in the 200 butterfly and Delaney Klaus in the 50 free.
Head Coach Adam Schneider praised the team’s performance, highlighting encouraging swims from Sparshott and Klaus. The team looks forward to participating in the upcoming TCNJ Invitational at The College of New Jersey.
The Ducks will aim to build on their recent success as they continue their season, with high hopes for the winter invite next weekend at TCNJ.
