Boil Water Advisory in Oconee County, South Carolina
Oconee County officials have issued a boil water advisory for residents in the Riverbend Subdivision near Fisher Cove Road in Fair Play, effective as of Monday, November 18, 2024. The advisory affects areas including Riverbend Road, North Lakeview Drive, Pine Knoll Road, and Deer Lane.
Residents are urged to boil all drinking and cooking water vigorously for at least one full minute. Additionally, any ice made from unboiled water should not be consumed. The advisory was implemented following a water main break in the vicinity, and it serves as a precautionary measure until further notice.
Crews are currently working to repair the broken water main, and officials have reassured residents that they will post updates on the situation once bacteriological sample results are collected and analyzed. The Pioneer Rural Water District is managing the response and encourages anyone with questions or concerns to contact them at 864-972-3082 for more information.
This advisory comes as a reminder of the importance of water safety, particularly after incidents that can compromise water quality. Residents are advised to remain vigilant and follow all water safety guidelines until the advisory is lifted. Further updates will be provided by the water district as repairs progress and testing concludes.
