Car Collision Leaves Resident Displaced in Columbia
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – A vehicle collision with an apartment building on Sunday afternoon has left one resident without a home. The Columbia-Richland Fire Department (CRFD) reported that their team was dispatched to the scene in the 1200 block of Metze Road at approximately 4:45 p.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that a car had crashed into the corner of an apartment unit, resulting in significant structural damage that rendered the dwelling uninhabitable. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries to any individuals involved in the incident.
The driver of the vehicle did not remain at the scene and fled after the crash. The South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) is currently investigating the incident to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the collision and to determine the identity of the driver.
