A teacher in Malappuram, Kerala, has built a stunning H-shaped house that is filled with surprises. Shihabudeen designed the house in a unique shape to suit the uneven layout of the plot, dividing it into private and public zones. The house features a sloping green bed that provides direct access to the upper floor, along with a car porch, sit-out, living area, kitchen, four bedrooms, and a balcony.
The house has long sit-outs supported by teak wood pillars and open interiors for excellent cross ventilation. The UPVC sliding windows allow cool air to flow through the space, creating a comfortable living environment. The staircase has walls on both sides instead of hand railings, and high ceilings with arched windows fill the interiors with natural light.
The upper living area is separated by hand railings in wood and metal rods instead of concrete walls. The bedrooms are simple with attached bathrooms and wardrobes for storage. The family is delighted that their brand-new house stands out from the rest in the neighborhood.
Designed by Anas, Aflah, Mohammad, and Aslam of Malabar Architecture Projects, the house is located in Wandoor, Malappuram, on a 24-cent plot and spans 3450 square feet. Completed in 2023, the house is a unique and modern architectural marvel in the countryside.
