South Carolina Gamecocks basketball team has announced the signing of four players for the fall of 2025, marking the largest signing day haul in the Lamont Paris era. The new additions include Hayden Assemian from Greenville, SC, Eli Ellis from Hickory, NC, Grant Polk from Gainesville, VA, and EJ Walker from Erlanger, Ky.
Hayden Assemian, a 6-8 forward, chose South Carolina for its family-oriented program culture. He averaged 4.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks per game in the Overtime Elite league. Eli Ellis, a 6-1 guard, is a four-star prospect and the No. 3 ranked player in North Carolina. He is currently averaging 32.3 points, 7.7 assists, and 6.0 rebounds per game in the Overtime Elite league.
Grant Polk, a 6-7 guard from Virginia, was an All-Interstate Athletic Conference pick and set school records with 95 3-pointers made. EJ Walker, a 6-8 forward from Kentucky, chose South Carolina for its player development aspect. He averaged a double-double in his junior year and is ranked as the No. 2 player in the state of Kentucky.
With these new signees, the Gamecocks’ 2025 class is currently ranked No. 17 in the country, the first top-20 class in the Paris era. The addition of top talent like Eli Ellis and the promising performance of players like Hayden Assemian indicate a bright future for South Carolina basketball.
