South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer has led the Gamecocks to a 7-3 record and a ranking of No. 19 in both the AP Poll and the USA Today Coaches Poll. The ESPN FPI ranks South Carolina as the 13th-best team in college football, just outside of College Football Playoff territory. With an upcoming matchup against No. 12 Clemson, the Gamecocks are hoping to secure a spot in the top 12. According to ESPN’s efficiency numbers, South Carolina ranks 46th in offensive efficiency, 5th in defensive efficiency, and 70th in special teams efficiency, placing them 17th overall. The FPI now projects South Carolina to finish the season with an 8.4-3.6 record, with a 41.9% chance of winning their remaining regular season games. The Gamecocks have a 10.9% chance of winning out and making the College Football Playoff at 9-3. Even if they don’t make the playoffs, South Carolina should secure a spot in a good bowl game. Their upcoming game against Wofford will be their final home contest of the season, with kickoff set for 4:00 p.m. Fans can stream the game on ESPN+ or SEC Network+. Despite Wofford being an FCS team, the Terriers have a 5-6 record on the season. As South Carolina gears up for a potential successful end to the season, fans are eagerly anticipating what the Gamecocks can achieve in the remaining games.
