South Carolina Football Hall of Fame Opens Voting for Class of 2024
Greenville, SC – The South Carolina Football Hall of Fame (SCFHOF) has launched online voting for its Class of 2024, featuring an impressive roster of 75 nominees, including 10 Legacy nominees. This year’s ballot recognizes individuals from the modern era and those who have significantly impacted South Carolina football, whether through player or coaching roles, or by demonstrating lasting influence within the state.
Nominees on this year’s ballot include a diverse set of players and coaches connected to ten different South Carolina college football programs—setting a new record for the SCFHOF. Voting is open to the public via the SCFHOF website, with the first round running until December 16, 2024. Voters may select up to four modern era nominees and one Legacy nominee, with options to write in candidates if desired.
Among the nominees, Clemson University boasts a notable presence with 14 former players, including CJ Spiller and Woody Dantzler, while the University of South Carolina features 15 nominees, such as former coach Lou Holtz and player Sidney Rice. Legacy nominees celebrate both historic figures in football and those who have passed, ensuring a comprehensive recognition of the sport’s history in South Carolina.
The culmination of this voting process will take place during the SCFHOF’s 12th Annual Enshrinement Ceremony on April 17, 2025, at Hotel Hartness in Greenville. The organization, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is dedicated not only to honoring football legends but also to fostering educational initiatives, aiming to rank South Carolina among the top ten states in college and career readiness by 2030.
