Colin Gray, the father of alleged Georgia school shooter Colt Gray, pleaded not guilty to charges related to a mass shooting that killed four people at Apalachee High School in September. His charges include second-degree murder, cruelty to children, and reckless conduct. This case marks the first time in state history that a parent of a suspected school shooter has been charged. Colt Gray, who has been indicted separately on 55 counts, including four counts of murder, waived his formal arraignment and also pleaded not guilty. The shooting at the Winder high school resulted in the deaths of two students and two teachers, with nine others injured. Two law enforcement sources indicated that Colin Gray had given his son an AR-15-style rifle as a gift after they were interviewed in 2023 about online threats of a school shooting.
