COLUMBIA, S.C. — The excitement of high school football playoffs continues to electrify the Midlands, with thrilling matchups resulting in a mix of standout performances and fierce competition on Friday, November 22, 2024.
In a commanding performance, Westside defeated AC Flora decisively with a score of 49-9, showcasing their strength as they advance in the playoffs. Batesburg-Leesville also enjoyed a strong victory against Andrew Jackson, winning 49-14. Camden edged out Wren in a nail-biter, finishing 43-42, while Dutch Fork dominated Boiling Springs with a 42-14 win.
Cheraw displayed their prowess against East Clarendon, claiming a 35-0 victory. Fairfield Central triumphed over Chesnee with a 41-6 scoreline, and in a closely contested game, Gilbert emerged victorious against Bishop England, 36-30. Hammond’s offense led them to a 28-21 win over Porter Gaud.
Other notable scores from the night included Hunter-Kinard-Tyler’s decisive 46-13 win over Dixie, Irmo’s 38-7 victory against Chapin, and Keenan’s 38-7 defeat of Orangeburg-Wilkinson. Saluda faced Pageland Central, ending in a 15-26 loss. Sumter shone brightly with a 55-24 win over Ashley Ridge, while Berkeley shut out Westwood 36-0. White Knoll also had a great showing, beating Myrtle Beach 39-14.
