Kennard and Stewart are on the verge of making history for the South Carolina Gamecocks as they approach the end of the season. Kennard leads the SEC with 11½ sacks, while Stewart, a five-star recruit, has 6½ sacks, the most by a freshman since Jadeveon Clowney in 2011. Kennard is also chasing Clowney’s single-season record of 13 sacks. The Gamecocks’ defensive line is looking to take advantage of Clemson’s banged-up offensive line, which has been plagued by injuries, including three season-ending injuries to key players.
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney is well aware of the challenges the Gamecocks’ defense presents and is preparing his team accordingly. Despite the obstacles, Clemson quarterback Klubnik has shown improvement in decision-making and has the ability to make big plays with his legs. Both teams are gearing up for an intense matchup as Kennard and Stewart aim to make their mark in the history books.
