South Carolina Track & Field is gearing up for an exciting weekend of competition with two home meets at the Carolina Indoor Track & Field Complex. The Gamecocks will host the Carolina Challenge on Friday and the Gamecock Challenge on Saturday. Fans can follow the MeetLive results online and stay updated on Twitter @GamecockTrack.
For those planning to attend, there are important details to note. The Carolina Indoor Track & Field Complex has a clear bag policy and a water bottle policy in place. Parking will differ for each meet, with metered street parking for the Carolina Challenge and the use of the Athletics Village Parking Garage for the Gamecock Challenge.
Ticket prices are set at $10 for adults, $5 for children 17 and under, and free for kids 2 and under. Students, faculty, and staff with a valid Carolina Card identification can get in for free.
The Gamecock Women’s squad is currently ranked No. 13 in the USTFCCCA Top 25, with several individual event groups ranked as well. With only five more weekends to secure NCAA Top 16 positions, the Gamecocks have athletes ranked in seven events, including JaMeesia Ford and Zaya Akins leading the way in the women’s 400m.
After a week off due to travel conditions, the Gamecocks are eager to return to competition following their successful outing at the Corky Classic earlier in January. South Carolina is aiming to continue their strong performances as they look to solidify their positions for the NCAA Indoor National Championship.
