South Carolina Track & Field had a triumphant start to February, securing 13 wins at the Gamecock Challenge. The highlight of the meet was the setting of new facility records in the distance medley relay by both the men’s and women’s teams. The women’s team, led by Abigail White, JaMeesia Ford, Sylvia Chelangat, and Salma Elbadra, set a new program record with a time of 11:02.54. On the men’s side, Jaouad Khchina, Josiah Wrice, Joshua Kosgei, and Rogerio Amaral broke the facility record with a time of 9:44.41. The Gamecocks also saw success in other events, with Anthony Greenhow winning the 200m sprint and Devan Crumpton achieving a personal best in the 400m sprint. The team is now gearing up for the East Coast Invitational in Virginia Beach and the Scarlet & White Invitational in Boston. With their strong performance at the Gamecock Challenge, the South Carolina Track & Field team is poised for success in upcoming competitions.
