South Carolina man facing multiple charges following viral racist outburst arrest

A man from Huger, South Carolina, has been charged by the Sullivan’s Island Police Department for a racist tirade against Hispanic men. Sean Michael-Emmrich Johnson, 34, was caught on video harassing the men, accusing them of not having a license, and using derogatory language while threatening to send them back to Mexico. Johnson faces charges of felony kidnapping, impersonating a law enforcement officer, larceny, and assault and battery. He turned himself in to the police and is currently detained at the Al Cannon Detention Center. Johnson was given a bond of $20,000 for kidnapping, $10,000 for impersonating an officer, $500 for larceny, and $1,087 for assault and battery in the third degree. The video of the incident, which was posted on social media, sparked outrage and led to the swift arrest and charges against Johnson. The Sullivan’s Island Police Department is taking the matter seriously and ensuring that justice is served in response to this appalling behavior.
