Yesterday, 25 youngsters from the Rosie the Riveter Trust had the opportunity to attend the Fueling Young Athletes Clinic hosted by the Warriors Basketball Academy and Chevron in Walnut Creek. The event introduced the kids to Shoot 360 technology, allowing them to improve their shooting, passing, and decision-making skills in real time. Adonal Foyle, a former Warrior center, emphasized the importance of technology in today’s game, highlighting the benefits it can bring to young players.
Participants worked in groups, engaging in skills competitions and learning the value of teamwork, discipline, and innovation. Phillip Johnson, principal of the Sylvester Greenwood Academy, praised the clinic for providing students with a second opportunity to succeed, combining sports with academics to keep them on the right path.
The day culminated in a surprise announcement that each participant would receive tickets to attend a Warriors game, adding to the excitement of an already unforgettable experience. For those who missed the clinic, more opportunities are on the way, as the Warriors Basketball Academy plans to host additional camps in celebration of Women’s Empowerment Month in March. This event showcased the importance of integrating technology with sports to help young athletes develop their skills and reach their full potential.
