House budget allocates $66.5 million for SC state employee raises, details on distribution revealed by The State


The South Carolina House has approved a budget that includes $66.5 million for employee raises. The proposed raises would be distributed in a way that benefits state employees across various sectors.

Teachers would receive a 1% raise, along with a step increase for eligible teachers. Correctional officers in state prisons would see a 3% raise, and nurses and other health care workers would receive a 2% increase.
