John R. Foster Jr., a 75-year-old man from South Carolina, has been arrested for the third time in a year on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor. The most recent arrest on Feb. 21 involved eight charges related to possessing material containing explicit images of minors. Foster was first arrested in July 2024 for criminal sexual conduct with a minor, following an investigation prompted by a 13-year-old victim who was one of Foster’s guitar students.
After a second victim came forward, Foster was arrested and charged again in August 22 with additional counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. Foster, who worked as a music instructor at Roper Music in Spartanburg, had his lease terminated by the music shop following the arrests. Roper Music emphasized that Foster was not an employee but only rented space for lessons and that they relied on the justice system to bring clarity to the situation. The case is ongoing.
