Jean Spahr: Embracing a Lifestyle of Longevity


The Seniors’ Council of Douglas County (SCDC) is hosting a monthly educational meeting on March 6 at the Douglas County Library in Parker. Kelly O’Connor, an expert in the aging services industry, will discuss the longevity lifestyle and provide tips for successful aging. O’Connor, known for her TEDx talk on longevity, will also share insights on personal healthcare and multi-generational living.

Additionally, SCDC is planning an educational event, Vintage and Vibrant 2025, on September 17 at the Highlands Ranch Senior Center. This event will offer interactive experiences and presentations tailored for older adults. The organization encourages older adults to visit DCL.org/ageless for information on programs, events, volunteering opportunities, and material delivery.

Research shows that volunteering is beneficial for mental and physical health, and Aging Resources of Douglas County offers various volunteer roles. Those interested in supporting older adults in the community can join the SCDC leadership team, which plans educational events and advocates for older adults in Douglas County.
