The annual in-state series between South Carolina and Clemson is set to take place this weekend at three different venues. The series kicks off on Friday, February 28, at Doug Kingsmore Stadium in Clemson, and will be streamed on ACC Network Extra. The games will then shift to Fluor Field in Greenville on Saturday and conclude on Sunday at Ray Tanner Field at Founders Park. This series is part of the Palmetto Series, where South Carolina currently leads Clemson 5-2 in various sports.
The pitching rotation for the games has been announced, with South Carolina’s Matthew Becker set to start on Friday and Jake McCoy on Saturday. The Gamecocks’ pitching staff has been outstanding so far this season, with a 2.25 ERA and 105 strikeouts in 76 innings pitched. The Gamecocks are off to a 9-0 start, their best since 2021, and are one of 13 unbeaten teams in Division I baseball.
Junior Jase Woita has been a standout player for the Gamecocks, hitting the team’s first grand slam of the season and leading the team with three home runs. Junior Ethan Petry also continues to make an impact, hitting his way up the career home run list at Carolina. The upcoming games against Davidson and The Citadel will provide more opportunities for the Gamecocks to showcase their talent.
