North Carolina A&T defeated Presbyterian College 12-11 in the Catamount Classic hosted by Western Carolina University. The Aggies lost to WCU later in the day, bringing their season record to 3-10. Megan Ellis hit a home run for the Aggies, while Jamari Moss drove in three runs and Destiny Sims had a strong performance.
After falling behind, A&T rallied in the fifth inning with key hits from Ellis, Moss, and Sims, leading to a 12-6 advantage. However, Presbyterian College made a comeback attempt in the seventh, scoring five runs before Aaliyah Williams closed the game with four strikeouts.
A&T will continue to play in the classic with upcoming games against Presbyterian and Rhode Island. The team’s offensive performance against Presbyterian College showcased their potential to secure more wins in the tournament.
