South Carolina resident taken into custody for making threats against Trump

Travis Keith Lang, a 47-year-old man from Irmo, South Carolina, is facing federal charges after allegedly threatening to kill President Donald Trump. Lang was arraigned in a Columbia courthouse and pleaded not guilty, being denied bond and held at the Lexington County Detention Center. The indictment filed against him states that he threatened to harm the President. The U.S. Secret Service is investigating the allegations, emphasizing the importance of reporting potential threats against public officials. Lang, who once filed to run for president as a Republican, could face up to five years in prison. Despite being visited by the Secret Service and told to stop making threats against Trump and Biden, Lang continued to post provocative statements on social media. This incident comes after Trump survived two assassination attempts in 2022. Lang’s next court appearance is scheduled for a bond hearing on March 14. The Secret Service and South Carolina Law Enforcement Division are working together on the case. Fox News Digital reached out to authorities for further comments on the situation.
