Eagles fall short in comeback attempt against SC State in MEAC Semifinals

The NC Central men’s basketball team ended their season with a 88-67 loss to No. 2 South Carolina State in the semifinals of the MEAC Basketball Tournament. Despite falling behind by 29 points in the first half, the Eagles fought back in the second half with Timmy Adedire and Po’Boigh King leading the charge. Perry Smith Jr. finished as the leading scorer for NCCU with 20 points, while King added 18. The Eagles shot better in the second half, but the early deficit was too much to overcome as they were denied a chance to play in the championship game. South Carolina State’s Omar Croskey had a standout performance with 30 points, leading the Bulldogs to victory. The Eagles finished the season with a 14-19 record, falling one win short of the title game. Despite the loss, NCCU remains optimistic about the future of the program.
