Kolpan Breaks School Javelin Record on South Carolina Trip


The Franklin & Marshall men’s track & field team kicked off its outdoor season at the Myrtle Beach College Challenge, with returning All-American Justin Kolpan breaking his own school record in the javelin. Kolpan achieved the second-best throw in Division III with a mark of 61.61 meters, topping his previous record of 61.04 meters. Will Bramley also impressed with the fourth-best mark in the hammer throw at 51.65 meters.

The team saw strong performances from Dustin Stoetzel, Laurence Miller, Owen McCann, Elliott Coulter, Tommy Tapino, Holden Brown, and Alex Miller in various events. The outdoor season continues with the Little Three Meet next weekend, where the hammer throw will be held at Gettysburg on Saturday, March 22, followed by the rest of the events at Dickinson on Sunday, March 23.

Overall, the Diplomats showcased their talent and potential in the season opener, setting high expectations for the upcoming competitions.
