The Cincinnati Bengals have signed four-year extensions with wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, ensuring that they will be playing alongside quarterback Joe Burrow for the foreseeable future. Chase will become the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history with a $161 million deal, including $112 million guaranteed. Higgins will receive $115 million. Chase led the league in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdown catches last season, making him just the sixth receiver in the Super Bowl era to achieve the receiving triple crown. Bengals director of player personnel Duke Tobin expressed that Chase was always their priority and that they wanted to make him one of the highest-paid players in the league. Higgins, a second-round pick in 2020, has put up impressive numbers in his first two seasons, recording at least 900 receiving yards in four of his five seasons and surpassing 1,000 yards in 2021 and 2022. The team is also working on reaching an extension with All-Pro edge rusher Trey Hendrickson, who led the league in sacks last season, despite him seeking a trade. Tobin emphasized the team’s commitment to keeping their core players happy and rewarding them for their performance, stating that managing the cap and retaining key players is a priority for the Bengals.
