Accusations made against Minnesota state senator for allegedly soliciting a minor for prostitution.

Minnesota state senator Justin Eichorn is facing calls to resign after being arrested for arranging to solicit a teenage girl for prostitution. Eichorn believed he was communicating with a 17-year-old girl but was actually speaking to an undercover detective. He was arrested in Bloomington and is being held at the Hennepin County Jail. The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office has yet to receive the case for possible felony charges. Bloomington Police Chief Booker Hodges has condemned Eichorn’s actions, calling the entire city the “Orange Jumpsuit District.” House Republican leaders and the Senate Republican Caucus have called for Eichorn’s resignation, stating that legislators should be held to a higher standard. Eichorn, who is married with four children, previously sponsored a bill recognizing “Trump Derangement Syndrome” as a mental illness. He is the second Minnesota senator facing felony charges, after Democrat Nicole Mitchell was arrested for breaking into her stepmother’s home. Mitchell has pleaded not guilty to charges of burglary and possession of tools for burglary.
