The Charleston Southern women’s hurdles teams excelled at the Weems Baskin Invitational hosted by the University of South Carolina. Austyn Koppe, Maeva Tahou, and Chloe Maé Wilks all placed in the top five in both the 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles events, despite challenging wind conditions. Koppe had the fastest time in the prelims and finished second in the finals, while Tahou and Wilks also had strong performances. In other events, Grenisha Thomas and Maddie St. Louis had standout performances, with Thomas winning the 400m hurdles and St. Louis finishing second in the 400m. The team also had success in field events, with Josaphine Ankney winning the shot put and Avah Morrison finishing second in the discus. The day concluded with a strong showing in the women’s 4x400m relay, ranking as the ninth fastest in school history. Charleston Southern will be competing at the N.C. State Raleigh Relays next weekend.
