Xiaomi and NaaS Technology Join Forces in New EV Charging Partnership


NaaS Technology, a US-listed charging provider, has become a major player in China’s EV charging infrastructure with 1.15 million charging points installed, accounting for 35% of the country’s public charging network. The company has partnered with various Chinese EV brands and will now provide charging access to Xiaomi customers using the Xiaomi Auto App or their vehicle’s navigation system.

NaaS’ charging hubs follow China’s Guobiao standard, accommodating both AC and DC fast charging. The company boasts serving over 13 million transaction users in Q3 of 2024 and plans to continue expanding its network.

Steven Sim, CFO of NaaS, emphasized the significance of the partnership with Xiaomi Auto in further developing NaaS’ charging network and enhancing user experience. By combining NaaS’ AI-powered technology with Xiaomi, they aim to provide efficient and seamless charging services for NEV drivers in China.

Xiaomi has experienced rapid growth in the Chinese EV market since its entry in 2024, with over 200,000 vehicles registered as of April 2024. Having surpassed its 2024 sales targets, Xiaomi announced an increase in its EV delivery target from 300,000 to 350,000 for the current year.

Through partnerships with Nio, Li Auto, and Xpeng, Xiaomi continues to expand access to the Chinese EV charging network. The collaboration with NaaS Technology is a strategic move to further solidify Xiaomi’s presence in the rapidly growing electric vehicle market in China.
