The No. 10/11 South Carolina softball team suffered a 10-2 loss to the No. 12/10 Arkansas team in their opening game of the series. Despite taking an early lead with runs in the first two innings, South Carolina was unable to hold off Arkansas, who scored 10 unanswered runs. Pitcher Same Gress took the loss, allowing five earned runs in 2 2-3 innings of relief. The teams will face off again in game two of the series tomorrow at 8 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.
