Rodi’s clutch homer propels No. 10 Gamecocks to victory over No. 12 Arkansas

The No. 10/11 South Carolina softball team secured a 5-4 victory over No. 12/10 Arkansas with a three-run home run by Arianna Rodi in the top of the fifth inning. Emma Sellers led the Gamecocks with a perfect 3-for-3 performance. The top of Carolina’s lineup, including Quincee Lilio, Karley Shelton, and Rodi, combined for six hits and four RBIs. South Carolina overcame an early 4-0 deficit, as pitchers Nealy Lamb and Sam Gress shut down Arkansas for the rest of the game. Lamb improved to 9-0 on the season, while Gress earned her fourth save. Rodi’s home run extended her streak of reaching base to 33 games. Despite Arkansas loading the bases in the sixth inning, Gress was able to work out of the jam and secure the win. The Gamecocks will face Arkansas in a rubber match to determine the series winner. The game is set for tomorrow at 2 p.m. ET.
