Two 9th-Inning Grand Slams Propel Texas A&M Baseball to Comeback Victory against South Carolina

Texas A&M baseball made history on Saturday with a thrilling comeback victory over South Carolina. The Aggies were down by as many as nine runs but staged an incredible rally in the final inning with two grand slams to win 15-12.

South Carolina had taken a commanding 12-3 lead after the sixth inning, but Texas A&M never gave up. Heading into the ninth inning, they were down 12-7. Pinch hitter Hayden Schott hit the first grand slam of the inning to pull the Aggies within one run. Then, shortstop Kaeden Kent delivered the second grand slam to give Texas A&M the walk-off win.

Kent led the team with four runs and four hits, scoring on the first grand slam before hitting his own to seal the victory. This feat marked the 24th time in NCAA history that a team has hit two grand slams in an inning, with the last occurrence in 2018.

The win completed a three-game series sweep for the Aggies, who now stand at 6-9 in the SEC with a 20-15 overall record. The team is currently on a six-game winning streak, having beaten South Carolina 8-7 in 10 innings on Thursday and 17-0 via mercy rule on Friday. Texas A&M’s incredible comeback will surely be remembered as one of the most unforgettable moments in college baseball this season.
