The No. 10/11 South Carolina softball team suffered a 5-4 loss to No. 12/10 Arkansas in the rubber match of their series. Ella Chancey led the Gamecocks with two hits and three RBIs, while Karley Shelton also had two hits. Despite taking an early lead, Carolina couldn’t hold off Arkansas, who tied the game in the fourth and scored the winning run in the sixth. Pitcher Sam Gress took the loss, allowing three hits and two runs in three innings of relief. The Gamecocks will now head to the Upstate for their next game in the Palmetto Series presented by the South Carolina Education Lottery.
