Gas prices decrease in South Carolina just in time for Easter travel, providing relief for drivers

Gas prices in South Carolina have dropped significantly over the past week, with the average price falling by 10 cents per gallon. According to GasBuddy, motorists can now expect to pay around $2.72 per gallon to fill up their tanks, which is higher than a month ago but still lower than prices from a year ago. The cheapest station in the state was priced at $2.39 per gallon, while the most expensive station was charging $3.09 per gallon.

On a national level, gas prices have also seen a decline, with the average price falling by 8.2 cents per gallon to $3.13. While prices are up from a month ago, they are still lower than they were a year ago. GasBuddy’s head of petroleum analysis, Patrick De Haan, believes that gas prices may continue to decrease in the near future, as refineries complete seasonal maintenance and supply begins to rise. He also notes that gas prices typically peak around April 10, so we may have already seen the highest prices of the year.
