South Carolina residents have free access to polling stations

The South Carolina Coalition for Voter Participation is offering free rides to the polls on Election Day for residents of select lowcountry locations in South Carolina. Eligible areas include Berkeley, Calhoun, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Georgetown, Lexington, and Orangeburg. To access the service, individuals can call (843) 225-0822. The service will only be available from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., during the same hours that polls will be open on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. This initiative aims to make it easier for residents to participate in the democratic process by providing transportation to polling locations. Those who are eligible and interested in using this service are encouraged to reach out and secure a ride to ensure they can make their voices heard in the upcoming election.
