Five individuals in Summerville, South Carolina are facing charges of animal cruelty after 13 cats were found dead. The incident occurred at a cat colony that was part of a program aimed at humane control of cat populations. Detectives discovered that the cats had been poisoned and identified Andrew George Dock as a person of interest who had complained about the cats in the past. Further investigation revealed that Dock had enlisted four others to assist him in killing the cats. On December 5, the Berkeley County Sheriff announced the arrest of Dock, along with Charles Waylon Ulmer, Michael Jeffrey Kemmerlin, Sara Rose Dock, and Laura Mary Dock in connection to the mass cat killing. The individuals are facing charges of ill treatment of animals and conspiracy. The case has sparked outrage in the community, and authorities are working to ensure justice is served for the innocent animals that lost their lives.
